ABOUT ULTIMATE SPORTS DJ

BUILT BY A HOCKEY DAD,
NOT A SOFTWARE COMPANY

Ultimate Sports DJ started in a cold rink in Buffalo, New York — somewhere between the warm-up buzzer and a scoresheet that still needed filling out.

MEET THE GUY BEHIND THE BOARD

Hi — I'm Adam Randazzo. I'm a dad of two hockey players, a youth hockey team manager, and the solo developer behind every app on this site.

My boys both play AA here in Buffalo — a 2011 and a 2013. I've been coaching and managing youth hockey since 2015, and these days I manage both of their teams. That means I already have a ton of game day responsibilities — the clock, the scoresheet, team logistics, and also the music.

By day I'm a technology director for a Buffalo-based company. Nights and weekends, I'm at a rink.

IT STARTED WITH A PLAYLIST

For years, game day music meant a regular Apple Music playlist and a lot of frantic clicking.

Scroll, find the song, hit play, hope it starts on the right part, hope you don't mess up the clock while you're scrolling for a song. Goal goes in, the building is loud for exactly four seconds, and then you're thumbing through a phone while the moment dies. Or the song runs long into the faceoff. Or shuffle serves up the same track for the third time that period.

Anyone who's worked a youth game knows the timekeeper's box is already a busy place. There's a lot of pressure to start and stop the clock on time and get every goal, assist, and penalty onto the score sheet correctly, in real time. On top of that, you want to give the home team an edge — firing up the crowd with your team's favorite music at exactly the right moment. Adding “DJ” to that list is how you get dead air after a goal.

There's enough pressure on the volunteers running a youth game. The music shouldn't add more.

SO I BUILT THE FIX

Ultimate Hockey DJ is the app I wanted in the scorekeeper's box.

One tap per moment — Goal Home, Power Play, Penalty Kill, Intermission. Clips trimmed ahead of time so the song hits the hook instantly instead of fading up through an intro. Shuffle that actually remembers what it just played. A setup you build once at home and load in seconds before puck drop.

I built it for myself first. Everything in it exists because I wanted to create the best atmosphere and experience for our players, families, and friends.

THEN A FRIEND ASKED ABOUT BASEBALL

I'm not a baseball dad. My friend Keith is.

He'd seen what Hockey DJ did at the rink and wanted the same thing for the diamond — walk-up songs for a full batting order, rally music, something a busy team parent could actually run from the bleachers between innings. So we built Ultimate Dugout DJ together. Keith brought the baseball knowledge, I brought the code, and he tested every version of it on an actual field.

Ultimate Basketball DJ is next — the same engine, built for starting lineup intros and gym nights.

WHAT I ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT

BUILT FOR VOLUNTEERS, NOT DJS

If you can run a scoreboard, you can run these apps. No audio engineering, no learning curve, no setup you have to redo every week.

FREE TO START

Every app is free to download with real functionality — not a locked trial. Pro exists for people who want more, not as a toll booth.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS

No ads, and we never sell your data. Your setups live on your device and sync privately through iCloud. I'm a parent too — I'm not interested in anyone's data. Read the privacy policy.

MADE BY SOMEONE WHO USES IT

I'm running this app at my own kids' games all season. When something's broken or annoying, I feel it the same weekend you do.

STEALING SONG IDEAS IS ENCOURAGED

A few of the lists I keep coming back to, pulled from real benches and dugouts.

COME SAY HI

If you're a manager, coach, timekeeper, or the parent who got handed the aux cord — I'd genuinely like to hear how it's going. Feature requests from real benches are where most of this came from.
